CROCKETT!

Everyone meet Crockett, my new foster dog for Saving Sunny, inc! Since Daisy was adopted, it was definitely time to bring a new one in. Crockett was found in June, chained up with no food or water or shade, covered in flies and fly bites on his owner’s property when he was confiscated for cruelty and neglect. He was literally hours away from death when he got a saving grace by the name of LMAS Sergeant Courtney Gray. LMAS vet tech staff cared for him in the three months, he was held at the shelter as evidence. Courtney Gray fought hard to get him out of the shelter and to prosecute his owner. He should be arriving at my house in the next few days, and when the time comes, I’ll post more information on this sweet boy. He is a couple years old estimated, good with other dogs and a complete teddy bear. Crockett will be looking for his forever home, so please repost to help us find his home so we can save another one!

DAISY MAE UPDATE!

  • Daisy mae has been living the life of a trucker pup on the week, and settling in at home in the country on the weekends since she has been adopted by James and Richard. She has so far already traveled to Texas and is adapting to road life very well with Richard. Zeus and her were off to a small rocky start due to Zeus being a very hyper, comfortable and playful dog while Daisy is a bit more reserved, especially now that she is in a new place and unfamiliar territory and away from her foster home but Richard has said he is dedicated to making Daisy part of their family and willing to take it babystep by babystep to insure that Zeus and Daisy become better partners. Thank you to everyone at Saving Sunny, LVSES, Downtown Animal Hospital, and her new adoptive family for helping Daisy come from a life of abuse and trauma to a life of luxury and love.
UPDATE!

ANGUS  update! Angus is the 16-week-old puppy hit by a car and then tied to a post last week. He is doing very well on crate rest and loves his belly rubs! He is such a sweet puppy boy and just wants to run and play. He did have to visit the vet this morning for some upper respiratory issues, but is recuperating wonderfully, otherwise. Saving Sunny INC will be accepting adoption applications on Angus as soon as he’s fully healthy.

If you can spare a few dollars, please feel free to drop by http://www.savingsunnyinc.org/donate.html and donate in the care of  Angus!

anyone who has a love and appreciation for these dogs will love this heartfelt story. i can relate to it because it’s the bond i share with one of my pit bulls that got me to this position in the first place, working with these dogs, and i am thankful for this expirence more everyday.

CONGRATS TO RICHARD, JAMES, ZEUS AND THEIR NEWEST FAMILY MEMBER DAISY MAE!

  • Daisy met her future family this weekend and it was love at first sight between the dogs, and humans alike. Daisy is now living the life in the country home on the weekends, while being a trucker pup during the week with James. Updates say with patience and baby steps, Daisy is figuring the new lifestyle and family out. I could not be any happier with a new home for this sweet girl who has been through so much. I definitely got teary eyed watching them drive away.

Right here is proof of a dog who was ultimately doomed to die at the hands of humans for being born a bully breed, went through some very hardships in her life but has learned to trust other dogs and humans again with absolutely not a single second thought.

Maybe there is a lot we can learn from these dogs if we stopped to listen.

UPDATE!

  • MATILDA has had her puppies! 13 of them to be exact!
  • ANGUS is healing well on his own under close watch and stict crate rest. His surgery has been postponed to see how his healing goes on his own and he will be ready for adoption in a few weeks.

If you can spare a few dollars, please feel free to drop by http://www.savingsunnyinc.org/donate.html and donate in the care of Matilda and her puppies or Angus!

ATTENTION!

It has been a insane week for Saving Sunny, INC! We’ve had three big newcomers, Matilda, Franklin and Angus, however, along with each of these dogs has come a heavy burden of very high medical bills.

I want to say thank you personally to each and every person who follows this blog and reblogs it, and put this idea out there. I know many people cannot adopt or foster whether it’s because you live out of state, don’t have the time or funds, ect. but one thing we can all do is donate money. There is no amount too small or too high, because every single dollar helps cover these babies medical bills and help with future medical bills.

I’m asking everyone to challenge themselves and give up that pack of cigarettes or morning coffee or daily soda, and donate that $5 to Saving Sunny to actually make a difference in the world and about a cause, that is near and dear to every single one of us. I foster, and still every week I donate $5 to this rescue because I have never met a group of people who work day in and day out, manage regular lives and still have their whole heart into saving these animals. Below is a link to Saving Sunny’s website page where it explains how to donate, as well as these new guys stories!

  • MATILDA

Matilda is a pit bull mix who is very obviously pregnant and about to be in labor any minute now. She was confinscated from a owner who had her strapped down to a moped and got pulled over for drunk driving. Matilda would have ended up on deathrow, had Saving Sunny, not stepped in and spoke up for her. She is now currently at LVSES (Louisville Veterinary Services & Emergancy Services) being watched closefully so she can have a safe and happy dilevery. Xrays have been done, and there is proof of 14 PUPPIES!! On top of her own vet bills, that means vet bills for these little squirts as well will have to be covered, they also need fosters, and homes for themselves, as will Momma Matilda when the time comes!

  • Angus

Angus a 16-week-old pittie that was hit by a car, rolled and then tied to a post this morning off of Popular Level RD. Angus was immediately taken in by Saving Sunny and rushed to LVSES to check his injuries and decide what to do from there. He has a few severe injuries, his main one being a broken shoulder/scapula. He was due for surgery a few days ago and then on his own time, started to put weight on the shoulder, so vets have decided to hold off on surgery for a few days to see how he goes about this. Once a course has been made for Angus, he will need a foster home until he finds his permnant one!

  • Franklin

Franklin was found off of Popular Level RD as well as a witness watched him get tossed from a moving car. Luckily for Franklin, a good samaritan happened to be around at the same time and quickly pulled him from the traffic. Franklin was taken to LMAS and then pulled by Saving Sunny, INC. Franklin was taken to LVSES to be assessed and luckily has a clean bill of health. He will need a foster home and forever home!
